So today I won a position on the Student Senate Executive Board for next academic school year. I will be the Director of Legislative Affairs! Which is pretty exciting for me. This means that I will be going to the Capitol next year and talking to our Representatives and Legislators about higher education and tuition cost and keeping that as cheap as possible as well as talking about the issues that face students at MCTC. I will be also doing a lot with Get out the vote (gotv) for the next election. I talked to the advisor for student senate and we have some great ideas and I am super excited to be working with him and the rest of the board members for next year.
I also got an award today at the senate meeting that says “Humanitarian of The Year”. So I guess that’s another thing that was pretty cool about the whole day as well.
My friend is leaving for Korea tomorrow (she is heading back home to GA and then leaving from there) but she is still leaving me none the less. So I had dinner with her tonight for one last time which was sad but good. We have spent the past two nights hanging out and having a blast. It’s a bitter sweet goodbye. This is something that she needs to do and I understand that and support her.
The last thing to make my day interesting is that on my way home from the school where I parked my bike I get hit by a car. I AM FINE! My bike on the other hand is a little fucked up and needs to be fixed but everything is ok. The guy that hit me was more shook up about the whole situation then I was. This is my second time getting hit by a car in the past year. Oh well life goes on. The only thing that is wrong with me is my knee and elbow are scrapped up but that’s about it. I just laughed on the way home about it all.
It’s been such a good day that me getting hit by a car has really no impact on me at all.
