So I just talked with my brother via text message about me no longer going to see a therapist and talking about what happened. The following is a comment made through out the conversation that we had and it just shows you how awesome that my little brother is!
And I know that you are strong willed enough to put it behind you and continue on like you have been without having it control you.
Two more followed after I responded with how much it meant to me to hear that he said that. Here you go.
Good. It should. And it is true. You have always been the strongest person to me. You go through so much and handle yourself so well. You have overcome what happened just by being you. It didn’t control you, you smashed it to a million pieces. Nobody else could do what you did.
That made me cry with happy tears. It made me feel loved by my little brother when we barely talk but I know that he will always be there for me because he has been in the past and will continue to be for the future. It showed me that just because we are family does not mean that we have to have a good relationship but we do because that is how we were raised by our parents to be.
Our parents did a good job raising my brother, sister and I. I could not have asked for a better support system through this hard time in my life.
